To really see the power of these beautiful animals, I think you have to see them running free of any restraints. No rider, no tack just pure unbridled energy. For these shots, we took a few horses who for one reason or another had been cooped up in their stalls for a little while and let them run free in the reining arena. As soon as the halter was off the show was on. Running, jumping, kicking and rolling with the sheer exhilaration of open space. As a photographer I love how the light from the high windows catches both horse and flying dirt to show the power in their movement.
