Face Off

from $35.00

In this powerful image, two polar bears engage in a sparring match on the rugged tundra near Churchill, Manitoba. With their mouths wide open and lips nearly touching, these magnificent creatures showcase a moment of dynamic interaction, highlighting their strength and agility. The ice and blue waters of Hudson's Bay contrasts beautifully with their thick, creamy fur, creating a striking visual that captures the essence of life in the Arctic. This scene not only reflects the social interaction between polar bears but also serves as a reminder of the delicate balance of their natural habitat. As the climate warms, the bears waiting for the sea ice to form have to go longer and longer without access to the seals that form the main part of their diet.  Luckily these bears, photographed in October of 2024, were able to stay out on the ice longer than usual last spring and so have had to endure a shorter summer.  Polar bears really do like it cold.
